S&V GROUP NZ LIMITED  is currently looking for 2 Cook for a full time permanent position for our Indian Restaurant. The hourly wage rates range from $25.00 to $35.00. The company is based in Auckland

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency.

Core Duties:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, biryani, breads (naan, roti), and snacks in accordance with established recipes.

• Marinating meats and preparing spice blends (masalas) using traditional methods to ensure authentic flavour and consistency.

• Assisting in planning menus and suggesting new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

• Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.

• Operating specialised Indian cooking equipment such as tandoor ovens and ensuring safe usage.

• Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment and ensuring proper cooking techniques are followed.

• Ensuring all food is prepared and presented in a timely manner during service periods.

• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with New Zealand food safety standards.

• Storing food items in temperature-controlled facilities and ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO method).

• Inspecting raw ingredients for quality and freshness before use.

• Assisting with ordering supplies and managing stock levels to minimise wastage.

• Following all workplace health and safety procedures and food hygiene regulations.

• Assisting in training junior staff and kitchen hands as required.

 Qualification or Experience:
 Level  4 qualification or 3 years relevant expereince
