Job Description:

We are looking for skilled Cooks for a busy chain of restaurants and takeaways based in Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a minimum of 30 hours per week, with opportunities for additional overtime.

The hourly wage ranges from $25.50 to $27.50, depending on experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before and after cooking
  • Monitor and control temperatures of stoves, ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment
  • Ensure food is served in correct portions with proper presentation
  • Store ingredients and prepared food safely following hygiene standards
  • Assist other kitchen staff when required
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience in North Indian cuisine is essential
  • Experience with Tandoor or curry-style cooking is required
  • Knowledge of grinding and mixing Indian spices is highly desirable
