Location: Papakura, Auckland.

Employment Type: Permanent

Pay rate:  $28.95 per hour (NZD)

We are seeking a qualified Chef with strong pizza- and pasta-making expertise to join our fast-paced Italian food court establishment based in Papakura. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about authentic Italian cuisine and experienced in high-volume catering environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook authentic Italian dishes, with a strong focus on pasta and pizza
• Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Prepare, season, and cook food according to recipes and standards
• Supervise kitchen operations and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are maintained
• Order and manage stock, and control kitchen inventory
• Deliver high-quality food in a fast-paced food court setting
• Handle bulk catering and camp catering assignments
• Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards
• Work collaboratively within a team to meet service demands

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chef
• Proven experience in Italian cuisine
• Strong skills in:
  • Making Italian-style pasta dishes
  • Pizza making and cooking
• Experience in camp catering and bulk catering
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts
• Willingness to travel to and stay on islands within the Auckland region for catering jobs
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Working Hours:

• Rostered shifts, minimum of 30 hours per week
• Additional hours may be required based on business needs
• Availability required Monday to Sunday, including night shifts
