Curry and Tandoor Cook

Position – Curry and Tandoor Cook
 
We are looking for ONE permanent Indian cook to be part of our team. These position requires working on weekends.

-     Good knowledge of Indian spices, seasoning, and garnish preferred.
 
 
Qualification/Work Experience
At least two years of work experience with Indian cuisine (curries, and tandoor) is required. Qualification is not necessary.

Your daily task will include-
·       Preparing and cooking authentic Indian tandoor and curries as per menu.
·       Operating Tandoor oven and making food and bread in it.
·       Control and expertise on Indian spices, seasoning, and garnishing, controlling, and adjusting the temperature of cooking equipment.
·       Preparation and presentation of tandoori items and curries.
·       Follow the recipes and ensure that the food is cooked and seasoned as instructed by the chef.
·       Advise the chef about the stock and supplies of the kitchen.
·       Refrigeration and storing of the raw and cooked food items at the correct temp.
·       Ensuring the quality of the foodstuffs.
·       Preparing the food to meet the specific dietary requirement of the customers.
·       Discuss preparation of the food with the chef and other staff as required.
·       Assist the chef in planning bulk menu or catering orders, if required.
·       Maintain and follow all the health and safety standards as per the government regulations.
·       Assist the chef in training other staff if required.

·       Provide inputs in menu planning of the Indo-Chinese section.  
·       Keep Food costs under control by proper estimation of serving sizes and quantity.
·       Keep labour costs under control.
·       Ensure and check the quality of preparation is uniform and consistent and of expected quality and standard.
·       Advise owner about ordering stock and supplies for the Indo-chinese Section.
·       Refrigeration and storing of the raw and cooked food items at the correct temp.
·       Preparing the Indo Chinese dishes like chowmein, Manchurian, chilly paneer, chilly chicken, etc.
·       Discuss preparation of the food with the senior chefs and other staff as required.
·       Cooking bulk menu or catering orders, if required.
·       Maintain and follow all the health and safety standards as per the government regulations.
·       Assist in training other staff if required.
