Experienced Cook

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a permanent and full time position.

This role is responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking a variety of dishes in a commercial kitchen, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. The position requires hands-on cooking skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Work location: 353C Mountain Road, Rotorua

Hours: Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week. Additional hours may be required depending on business needs.

The rate is $25-30 per hour based on skill.

Key responsibilities include:

· Prepare, cook and present food in accordance with established recipes and kitchen standards

· Season food appropriately and monitor cooking processes to ensure quality outcomes

·Operate and regulate cooking equipment such as ovens, grills and stovetops

· Portion and plate dishes, adding sauces and garnishes as required

· Check food ingredients to ensure freshness and quality

·  Store food safely and maintain proper stock rotation

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and cooking areas

· Assist in preparing meals to meet special dietary requirements

·  Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food supplies

·   Receive and check deliveries to ensure correct stock quality and quantity

What we are looking for:

·       Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience

·       Experience in a busy restaurant or catering environment preferred

·       Relevant cookery or hospitality qualification is advantageous

·       Knowledge of food safety practices
