We are a popular Japanes restaurant located in Gisborne, looking for a passionate and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
  • regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • preparing and cooking food
  • seasoning food during cooking
  • portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
  • storing food in temperature controlled facilities
  • preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • may plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or Cookery Qualification (NZQF Level 4 equivalent) or any Bachelor degree

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work as part of a busy team and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

  • Reliability and punctuality.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Pay: $32 - $36 per hour (Negotiable based on experience).

  • Full time Position - at least 30 work hours per week, maxium 50 work hours per week.
