Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Creation & Development: Collaborating on seasonal, bistro-style menus that highlight fresh New Zealand produce and complement our coastal setting.

  • Financial Management & Budgeting: Monitoring food costs, managing kitchen waste, and implementing strict portion control to maintain profitability in a high-volume environment.

  • Culinary Technical Mastery: Executing high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch service with precision, ensuring consistent presentation and speed during peak beach-side rushes.

  • Kitchen Operations: Streamlining food preparation and managing the "pass" effectively to ensure seamless service between the kitchen and the front-of-house team.

  • Procurement: Maintaining relationships with local suppliers and managing daily inventory to ensure all ingredients—from fresh seafood to café staples—meet our premium standards.

  • Compliance: Upholding rigorous Food Safety/HACCP standards. 

Key Terms & Conditions

  • Rate of Pay: $29 – $34 per hour (commensurate with experience).

  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week. Permanent full-time employment.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
