We are a Chinese restaurant seeking professional Chinese Cook to join our team.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Hours per week: Minimum 30 hours
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hourly rate: $25-$28 per hour depending on your experience

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Examine and select food ingredients to ensure freshness and quality
  • Prepare and cook a range of Chinese dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Season food appropriately during cooking to achieve authentic flavors
  • Regulate temperatures of ovens, woks, grills, and other cooking equipment to ensure optimal cooking conditions
  • Portion and present dishes, including adding sauces, gravies, and garnishes
  • Store food and ingredients in temperature-controlled environments in line with food safety requirements
  • Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements where required
  • Assist in menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations

 

Requirements:

  • At least two years relevant work experience as a Chinese cook
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking methods and ingredients
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings
