1. SOUTH INDIAN CHEF (PRIMARY ROLE)

We are looking for an experienced South Indian Chef with a passion for authentic cooking and strong kitchen leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing authentic South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, chutneys, curries, and regional specialities
  • Managing fermented batters and traditional cooking techniques
  • Maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency
  • Assisting with menu development and introducing new dishes
  • Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen organisation
  • Ensuring full compliance with NZ food safety standards
  • Training and supervising junior kitchen staff
  • Working efficiently under pressure during peak service

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in South Indian cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of traditional spices, techniques, and flavours
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership skills preferred (for senior roles)
  • Passion for quality food and innovation

2. DUTY MANAGER

We are also seeking a reliable and experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily operations and lead the front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and handling complaints professionally
  • Supervising staff and maintaining smooth service flow
  • Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing laws and host responsibility
  • Opening/closing the restaurant and managing cash handling

Requirements:

  • Valid Duty Manager Certificate (NZ)
  • Previous hospitality management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

3. WAIT, STAFF

Looking for energetic and friendly front-of-house staff to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting customers and taking orders
  • Serving food and beverages efficiently
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant
  • Supporting the team during busy periods

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred (not essential)
