As a vibrant and busy Thai restaurant, we are known for our genuine flavours and warm hospitality. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Junior Thai Cook to join our team. This is a long-term opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to elevating Thai cuisine to new heights.

Responsibilities:

  • preparing and cooking a variety of Thai dishes
  • Support different kitchen sections e.g. wok, curry, prep, or plating as required
  • Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing ingredients properly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations
  • Ensure all food is handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Work cooperatively with kitchen team members during service
  • Be willing to learn new cooking techniques and improve skills

To be considered, you must meet one of the following:

  • At least one year of relevant experience in a Thai kitchen; OR
  • A degree qualification in any field, together with National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook) certification from Thailand.

You should have strong teamwork and communication skills, along with a proactive attitude and a desire to grow within the culinary field. You should be confident working under pressure, with a solid understanding of Thai ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays is required, and you may occasionally need to travel to other store locations within Auckland, so the ability to travel as needed is essential.
