Nelson Turkish Kebab House is conveniently located on Bridge Street, Nelson. We offer our customers a healthy and delicious dining experience featuring Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine. We operate seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM (summertime Saturday closing is 3 am).

Our restaurant has a seating capacity of 40 patrons, and we also provide takeaway services. Due to increasing demand, we are currently seeking cooks to join our team. The restaurant now operates from two adjoining shops that were previously separate and have since been merged, creating a larger capacity and a more spacious dining environment for our customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking menu items (kebabs, salads and grills) while following the instructions of the chef. We expect you to consistently deliver high-quality dishes and maintain excellent kitchen standards.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a cook, preferably with experience in Turkish kebabs and grills
  • High standard of personal hygiene and presentation
  • Ability to work in a small, fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Punctual, organised, and capable of multitasking with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and maintaining records for quality control
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, residents, or hold a valid visa allowing them to work in New Zealand
