About the Role
As Chef, you will play a pivotal role in leading daily kitchen operations, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service consistency. The successful candidate will bring creativity, leadership, and strong organisational abilities to support the continued growth and success of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine menu offerings, including seasonal specials and innovative dishes that complement our Asian and Vietnamese fusion concept.
- Research and experiment with new ingredients, flavours, and cooking techniques to enhance the dining experience.
- Oversee all kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and exceptional food presentation standards.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, recipes, preparation methods, and kitchen procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff while fostering a professional, collaborative, and positive workplace culture.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and contribute to recruitment and staff training processes.
- Prepare, cook, and present meals efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality during busy service periods.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate food and supply ordering to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Manage kitchen inventory, portion control, and operational costs to minimise waste and optimise profitability, including monitoring utilities and resource usage.
- Work collaboratively with management and team members to improve kitchen workflow and operational systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Skills and Experience Required
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a similar Chef or Cook position.
- Previous experience with Asian or Vietnamese cuisine will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required in a seven-day trading environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
