We are looking for 1 x Sous Chef to be a part of our team at The White Tiger and the Silk Road Restaurant, Rotorua.
These positions require working on weekends and evening shifts. You will be required to work at both venues.
You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours/week and a maximum of 45 hours/week.

Sous Chef Role Overview –
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, maintain food costs under control through effective ordering of supplies, and monitor labour costs through effective roster planning.
- Have a thorough understanding of local market produce, and a passion to keep up to date with modern trends.
- Coordinate between different kitchen sections (e.g., grill, saute, etc).
- Assist the Head Chef to manage the team by providing guidance, support, and direction to achieve financial results.
- Work with the Head Chef to drive and achieve desired results as well as exceed goals.
- Responsible for running seasonal specials.
- Keep a track of stock and raw materials and order stock as required OR inform directors of the requirements.
- Ensure all health and safety measures are in place and the kitchen remains compliant as per the government regulations.
- Preserve food properly.
- Train and interview staff when required.
Qualification/Work Experience
To be successful, you will need to have 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
