Siddiqa Nz Trading Limited, located in Mt Roskill offers the tastiest food items. We are based in Mt Roskill in the Auckland Region. Our working timings are 10 30 AM to 10 PM. We are looking for hard-working, reliable, energetic and sincere 2 (two) cooks to join our team on a full-time permanent role.

Core Duties:

  • Prepare, season and cook a variety of menu items, including fish and chips, seafood dishes, burgers, fried foods, Bangladeshi-style curries, biryani, rice dishes, kebabs, breads and other takeaway meals in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, peeling, cutting, trimming, portioning and marinating meat, seafood, poultry and vegetables.
  • Prepare and cook Bangladeshi-style curries, biryani and other specialty dishes using appropriate herbs, spices, seasonings and cooking methods.
  • Batter, fry, grill, roast and cook fish, seafood, meat and other food items to ensure consistency in quality, taste and presentation.
  • Portion and package food for dine-in and takeaway service in accordance with customer orders and business requirements.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and food products before use and report any issues to management.
  • Monitor food during preparation and cooking to ensure it is cooked safely and meets quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment including deep fryers, grills, ovens, cooktops and other food preparation equipment.
  • Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment and food storage facilities to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Store food items appropriately and rotate stock using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures to minimise wastage.
  • Assist with stock control by monitoring ingredient levels and notifying management when supplies require replenishment.
  • Ensure all food preparation, cooking and storage activities comply with New Zealand food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, utensils, equipment and storage facilities throughout each shift.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Assist in training and guiding kitchen hands and junior staff in food preparation, cleaning and food safety procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction during busy service periods.
  • Perform other related cooking and food preparation duties as reasonably required by the employer.


Qualification or Experience:
Level 4 qualification or 2years of relevant experience
