We are looking for an experienced full-time Chinese Chef to join our progressive restaurant in Paraparaumu, Wellington.
To be right for this role and our organization
- At least 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification
- Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
- Must be flexible to work late-night shifts and be able to manage two shifts in a day.
- Long-term commitment required.
Key tasks & responsibilities:
- Planning and updating our menus
- Estimating food and labour costs for our restaurant
- Ordering food supplies regularly
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with manager, kitchen, and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- Selecting and training kitchen staff when required
- May freeze and preserve foods
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the owner
