Our venue hire division provides premium event hospitality to private and corporate clients, and the Chef is at the heart of what we do.
We are seeking a highly experienced Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen operations — from menu design and food preparation through to procurement, team management, and compliance. This is a senior culinary role suited to a professional who brings depth of experience across multiple cuisines and the confidence to lead.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, cook and present a wide range of dishes for events spanning several cuisines
• Build tailored menus for each event, including halal options
• Guide kitchen staff on cooking methods and show them how dishes are prepared
• Work with managers, dietitians, and service staff on food preparation and presentation
• Run the kitchen day to day, from ordering supplies to managing costs and stock
• Store and preserve food safely in line with food safety requirements
• Recruit, train, and supervise the kitchen team
• Uphold and enforce kitchen hygiene standards across the team
Requirements
• Substantial experience as a chef (at least 5 years), including senior or head chef experience
• Proven skill across European (Italian, French, Mediterranean, Russian), Chinese, and Japanese cuisines
• A track record of managing kitchen staff and operations
• Working knowledge of halal food preparation
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Confident with kitchen management software and POS systems
• Relevant culinary qualifications an advantage — overseas qualifications welcome
Working Hours
Minimum 30 hours per week on a flexible roster, Monday to Sunday. Shifts may start from 7.00 am and run beyond midnight depending on event requirements.
