SWADESH ENTERPRISES LIMITED T/A PIZZA CREW is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our busy hospitality business in Henderson, Auckland.

This is a permanent full-time position offering a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 45 hours per week required for our restaurant located at Henderson, Auckland, NZL

The Chef will be responsible for planning, organising and directing the preparation and cooking of food while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, food safety and kitchen efficiency. The successful applicant will contribute to menu development, oversee food preparation processes and support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food.

• Prepare and cook a range of menu items to a consistently high standard.

• Develop and update recipes, menus and food presentation standards.

• Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking and service.

• Determine food preparation methods and cooking procedures.

• Estimate food requirements and assist with food cost control.

• Order, receive and manage food supplies and kitchen inventory.

• Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.

• Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

• Assist with training staff and coordinating kitchen activities.

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.

• Coordinate food production during busy service periods.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen operations and menu offerings.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Cookery or a related field; OR

• At least relevant commercial kitchen experience in a hospitality or food service environment.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.

• Good organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and supervise kitchen staff when required.

• At least one recent employment reference that can verify the applicant’s relevant work experience and performance.
