Cafe Chef

The Bakehouse Cafe and Roasts in Upper Hutt is seeking 1full-time Cafe Chef to join our progressive team. We are now looking for 1ideal candidate to contribute to our dynamic environment, with the following attributes:

To be right for this role and our organization,you need:

• A minimum 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification.
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime
• Must be flexible to meet the early morning and late night shifts.
• Long-term and full commitments are required.
• Complying with health and safety regulations.
• Be able to pass a police check
  
  

Key tasks &responsibilities:

• In charge of food preparation and duties based on outstanding cooking techniques and deliver the best dishes set by the restaurant.
• Ensure quality of food are always delivered at the highest standard and present to customers in a timely manner.
• Plan menus and create recipes based on seasonal ingredients and customer demands accordingly.
• Cooking food, placing on plates or takeaway boxes and adding gravies and sauces.
• Checking stocks and placing orders with suppliers accordingly.
• Coordinating kitchen and restaurant matters with the owner.
• Teach,train and supervise kitchen junior staffs the cooking procedures by using the cooking knowledge and experience if needed.
• Prepare dietary food to meet the customer's special needs.
• Check temperatures of frozen and hot food and storing them under right temperatures.
• Keep kitchen tidy and clean and strictly comply with NZ health and hygiene regulations.
