Black Antler Eatery, Browns Bay, Auckland is looking reliable and flexible Chefs to join our team. We have a permanent full-time positions available with flexible rotating shifts, Monday to Sunday.

We are offering suitable candidates $26.00 - $37.00 per hour, with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Duties include:

  • Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
  • Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Preparing and cooking high-quality food using a variety of cooking techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on cooking procedures and food preparation methods.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements.
  • Managing stock rotation and minimising food wastage.
  • Assisting with menu development and seasonal menu updates.
  • Training and supporting kitchen staff to maintain food quality and hygiene standards.
  • Working closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a relevant NZQF Level 4 Diploma/Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent qualification), or
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and flexibility.
