Job Description
- Developing menu plans, calculating food expenditure and staffing expenses, as well as placing orders for food raw materials
- Overseeing the quality of all dishes throughout food preparation and plating processes
- Communicating about food production-related matters with management teams, dietitians, kitchen crews and front-of-house service employees
- Showing practical cooking skills and offering guidance on standard culinary workflows
- Undertaking food preparation and culinary cooking tasks
- Interpreting sanitary rules and ensuring all team members comply with hygiene standards
- Being responsible for staff recruitment and on-the-job training when required
- Conducting food freezing and preservation work as needed
- Arranging and coordinating all food prepping and cooking operations within restaurants or catering businesses
- Completing other reasonable work assignments assigned by the employer

- Location: Waikato
- Job type: Full-time Permanent
- Pay rate: 27.00- 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
- Days required: 6 days per week (rotational roster arrangements apply)
- Hours per week: at least 30 hours per week
Job Requirement
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a Bachelor degree in any discipline is required.
