We are a busy and well established Indian restaurant based in Auckland. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to a candidate with proven experience in commercial cookery,preferably Indian cuisine.
Key Duties and Responsibilites:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes in accordance with menu and quality standards
- Plan food preparation and cooking tasks to ensure timely service
- Follow standard recipes and presentation speficiations
- Check food quality before serving
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes; stroing food in temperature controlled facilities
- Regulation temperatrures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Menu planning and development
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products
- Maintain a clean and hygenic kitchen in line with food safety regulations
- Operator kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate food service
Job Requirements:
- 2 yearas of relevant work experience o a relevant qualification
- Experience in Indian cuisine is preferred
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygien practices
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and able to work rostered shifts
- Good teamwork and communication skills
