We are a busy and well established Indian restaurant based in Auckland. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to a candidate with proven experience in commercial cookery,preferably Indian cuisine.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes in accordance with menu and quality standards
  • Plan food preparation and cooking tasks to ensure timely service
  • Follow standard recipes and presentation speficiations
  • Check food quality before serving
  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes; stroing food in temperature controlled facilities
  • Regulation temperatrures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • Menu planning and development
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food products
  • Maintain a clean and hygenic kitchen in line with food safety regulations
  • Operator kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate food service

Job Requirements:

  • 2 yearas of relevant work experience o a relevant qualification
  • Experience in Indian cuisine is preferred
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygien practices
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work rostered shifts
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
