The Turkish Delight Company is an authentic Turkish delight producer and retail store based in Pukekohe, Auckland. We specialise in handcrafted traditional Turkish delights and Turkish desserts, supplying customers through our retail store and online shop.

 

Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we are seeking an experienced Turkish Delight Chef to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a specialist role requiring experience in the traditional production of authentic Turkish delight. An immediate start is preferred.

 

The successful applicant will be based at our Pukekohe production premises and will be required to work weekends and public holidays as rostered.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for independently managing the complete production of our handcrafted Turkish delights, including:

·        Preparing authentic Turkish delight from scratch using traditional methods and company recipes.

·        Managing the entire production process, including ingredient preparation, cooking, flavouring, setting, cutting, coating, packaging and presentation.

·        Monitoring cooking temperatures, consistency and texture to ensure products meet our quality standards.

·        Adjusting recipes and production techniques to account for seasonal and environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature.

·        Developing and introducing new Turkish delight recipes and flavour combinations using your specialist knowledge and experience.

·        Maintaining consistency and quality across all product batches.

·        Ensuring production schedules are met to satisfy retail and wholesale demand.

·        Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with New Zealand food safety requirements.

·        Recording production and quality control information.

·        Monitoring stock levels of ingredients and advising when specialist ingredients need to be ordered.

·        Assisting with training other production staff in traditional Turkish delight making techniques where required.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

·        At least 2 years' experience producing authentic Turkish delight in a commercial environment.

·        The ability to independently manage the full Turkish delight production process.

·        Experience working with traditional Turkish recipes and techniques.

·        The ability to create and develop new Turkish delight recipes while maintaining authentic quality.

·        Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing premium quality products.

·        Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

·        Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.

·        Availability to work weekends and public holidays as rostered.

·        The legal right to work in New Zealand.

·        Hourly rate of $37.00–$42.00, depending on experience.
