Position: Chef

Number of positions: 3

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

     - Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies

     - Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

     - Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

     - Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

     - Preparing and cooking food

     - Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

     - May select and train staff

     - May freeze and preserve foods

 

Requirements for the job:

     -Be able to speak Vietnamese 

     - A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, or a diploma-level qualification or higher

     - Strong planning and organizational skills for managing food preparation and cooking processes

     - Knowledge and ability to plan and organize the preparation and cooking of food in a busy environment.

     -  Plan and add new menu items based on seasonality, customers’ preferences and feedback

     - High standard of food safety and hygiene practices

     - Ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team effectively

     - Be physically fit

     - Full time availability, always available on weekends and public holidays

     - Able to do both morning and evening shifts across a 7-day roster, and to follow flexible weekly timetable

     - Have good time management skills, be well organized and capable of multitasking

     - Reliable and have a positive attitude

     - No criminal record

     - Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or residents

 

Remuneration and Hours

     - Pay: Hourly $24 

     - Pay rate: Minimum $24/ hour, Maximum $24/ hour

     - Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
