​​Job Description

  • Designing menus, estimating expenses for food and labor, and placing orders for ingredients
  • Ensuring dish quality during all preparation and plating stages
  • Collaborating with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen or waitstaff on food preparation matters
  • Showing proper techniques and offering guidance on cooking methods
  • Cooking and preparing meals
  • Communicating and enforcing sanitation rules
  • May be responsible for hiring and training employees
  • May handle freezing and preserving food items
  • Coordinates and oversees the cooking process in a restaurant or catering setting
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by the employer

More details about the position

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 26.85- 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: 5–6 days per week (rotational roster arrangements apply)
  • Hours per week: At least 35

Job Requirement

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a bachelor degree in any discipline is required.
