NDJ Limited has three cafes in Wellington CBD, and now looking for 2 professional Chefs to support day to day business operation:
To be right for this role and our organization
- At least 2 years relevant experience or level 4 or above relevant qualification.
- Be fit enough to work under pressure.
- Adaptable to change and able to multitask.
- Able to work on weekends and work overtime
- Be flexible to meet the early morning shifts.
- Long-term and full commitments are required.
- Complying with health and safety regulations.
- Be able to pass a police check.
Key tasks & responsibilities:

In charge of food preparation and duties based on outstanding cooking techniques and deliver the best dishes set by the restaurant.

Plan menus and create recipes based on seasonal ingredients and customer demands accordingly.

Portion food, placing on plates or takeaway boxes and adding gravies and sauces.

Ensure quality of food are always delivered at the highest standard and present tocustomers in a timely manner.

Assist Head Chef/Manager by checking food stocks and place order with suppliers.

Report to Head Chef and coordinate matters with Head Chef/Manager.

Teach and supervise kitchen junior staffs the cooking procedures by using your cooking knowledge and experience if needed.

Prepare dietary food to meet the customer’s special needs.

Keep kitchen tidy and clean and strictly comply with NZ health and hygiene regulations.

Check temperatures of frozen and hot food and storing them under right temperatures.
