Job Description:
Excellent opportunity to join a successful and well-established Whangamata based and become a part of team in the kitchen.
This job is required to perform: (specific duty tasks)
• Prepare, cook and present high-quality fusion cuisine-style dishes, including grilled
meats, seafood, burgers and other menu items in accordance with the restaurant's
recipes and standards.
• Manage the Grill & fusion cuisine section of the kitchen and ensure meals are
prepared efficiently during service.
• Assist with planning weekly specials and menu improvements in consultation with
the Restaurant Manager.
• Estimate food requirements, monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food
supplies for the assigned section.
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure
consistency and customer satisfaction.
• Discuss food preparation requirements and coordinate with the Restaurant
Manager, other chefs and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance and training to junior kitchen
staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements,
including the proper handling, storage, freezing and preservation of food.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area and ensure kitchen equipment is
used correctly.
• Assist other kitchen sections as required and perform other duties consistent with
the position of Chef.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience; OR
• At least level 5 qualification in any area
