Alpha Group of Companies Limited is looking for Cooks to join our growing team in Canterbury region. As a Chicking Cooks, you'll be preparing our chicken in the kitchen, breading and cooking our chicken to perfection.

 

This is a full-time, permanent role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week with remuneration between $25-$35 per hour for the right candidate

Job Responsibilities:

  • Taking and serving food and beverage orders, and receiving payment from customers
  • Prepares batches of food that are cooked to order or kept warm until ordered and sold; this may include such food items as hamburgers, pizzas, fish and fries.
  • Washing, cutting, measuring and mixing foods for cooking
  • Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as microwaves, griddles, grills, or deep fat fryers.
  • Prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked.
  • Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food order slips or through verbal directions; verifies the quality and quantity of all orders.
  • Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with customer instructions.
  • Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking services, and dishes and utensils.
  • Ordering and taking delivery of fast food ingredients
  • May arrange delivery of prepared food and beverages
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Level 4 qualification or higher, OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and safe food handling practices (or willingness to obtain).

  • Ability to work at pace during peak service times.

  • Basic proficiency in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with suppliers, staff and customers
  • Familiarity with products from the menu, with a strong understanding of what items are in the menu.

  • Right to work in New Zealand.
