A busy takeaway shop in South Auckland is looking for a suitably qualified motivated & energetic Senior Chef to join our busy team. The takeaway shop serves Asian cuisine daily.

Duration:                      Permanent (Tuesdays to Sundays rostered hours)

Pay:                     $30 per hour (minimum 30 hours and max 50 hours weekly) earning $900-$1500 per week

Description

We operate from Tuesday to Sunday 11am-9pm and on public holidays. As an important member of the team, this role is responsible for managing the day to day running of the kitchen. Selected candidate will work a minimum of 30 rostered hours per week including weekends and public holidays.

Duties of the Role

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, managing kitchen staff and ensure smooth service
• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control
• Manage inventory, stock procurement and cost control to minimize waste
• prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with established recipes and standard
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient kitchen environment
• storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
• Designing and planning seasonal menus

Requisite Competencies

To fit well in the role, you will need to have:

·      Three years' work experience is required

·      Relevant culinary qualifications (preferred but not essential)

·      The ability to multi-task, cope with pressure in a fast-paced working environment

·      Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations

·      Honesty, dependability and responsibility

·      Punctuality and excellent time management

·      Preferably speaking Chinese
