We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join our culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hotel environment and contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to established recipes, standards, and specifications.
  • Assisting with menu preparation and daily food production requirements.
  • Preparing ingredients and completing mise en place for service periods.
  • Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and food handling procedures.
  • Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with stock rotation and inventory control.
  • Minimising food wastage and contributing to cost control initiatives.
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Working collaboratively with other kitchen and food & beverage team members.
  • Assisting with training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required.
  • Following all Hilton brand standards and operational procedures. 

Skills and Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of three years' relevant experience as a Cook/Chef, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working in a busy commercial kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of cooking methods and kitchen practices.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A positive attitude and passion for delivering high-quality food.

Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous but not essential where sufficient experience can be demonstrated. 

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate of $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.
  • Guaranteed full-time hours, minimum 35 hours per week upto a maximum of 45 hours per week, rostered as per operational requirements across seven days.

Availability Requirements

The successful applicant must be available to work on a rotating roster, including:

  • Weekdays
  • Weekends
  • Public holidays
  • Morning, afternoon, evening, and split shifts as required by business needs.
