You are required to work at least 30 hours per week, and have minimum 2-year relevant chef work experience, or hold relevant NZQF level 5 or above cookery qualification 

We offer hourly wage rates ranging from Minimum $29 to maximum of $45 depending on your skill and/or relevant work experience

Your main tasks include: 

• Preparing and cooking a range of Chinese dishes to a consistent standard and according to customer orders.
• Planning and creating menus, including developing and improving dishes.
• Preparing, portioning and arranging food for presentation.
• Monitoring food quality, taste, portion sizes and presentation.
• Managing kitchen operations and coordinating food preparation during service.
• Training and supervising kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Ordering food, ingredients, kitchen supplies and equipment as required.
• Monitoring stock levels and maintaining appropriate records of supplies.
• Ensuring kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas are kept clean and hygienic.
• Complying with food safety, health and safety and workplace requirements.
• Assisting with determining appropriate menu pricing based on ingredients, costs and portion sizes.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking Chinese dishes.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
