Job Salary: $28.00 per hour

We are looking for a full-time permanent Cook to join our busy kitchen in Auckland.

Job Description

This role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

  • Preparing and cooking food

  • Seasoning food during cooking

  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

  • Storing food in temperature controlled facilities

  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

  • Planning menus and estimating food requirements

  • Training other kitchen staff

  • Pay rate: $28.00 per hour

  • Hours per week: minimum 30 hours, maximum 55 hours per week

The successful applicant must have:

  • Must have at least two years of relevant commercial cooking experience, no qualification is required

  • Proven ability to prepare and cook food to a consistent standard in a busy commercial kitchen

  • Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a kitchen team, including evenings and weekends
