Chinese Cuisine Chef

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes using appropriate cooking techniques and ensure meals meet the restaurant’s standards.
• Assist with menu planning and develop recipes based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Prepare dietary meals to meet customers’ special requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of food quality and ensure dishes are presented and served to customers in a timely manner.
• Check food stock levels and place orders with suppliers when required.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in cooking procedures, sharing cooking knowledge and experience where needed.
• Develop menu items in line with the restaurant’s style and customer demand.
• Follow and enforce food safety and hygiene requirements to keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
• Manage the storage and handling of fresh and frozen food.
• Work closely with the Manager and assist with other kitchen-related duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you need:

• 2 years of relevant experience OR a Level 4 or above relevant qualification
• Be reliable, responsible and able to work well under pressure.
• Be flexible with working hours, including weekends when required.
• Be adaptable, safety-conscious and able to work well as part of a team.
   

What we offer:

• Pay rate: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
• Working hours: 30 – 60 hours per week
