SAMAIRA GILL ENTERPRISES LIMITED is looking for a Chef to join our team. You will be supporting daily restaurent operations, delivering excellent customer service, and helping maintain a clean and positive environment.

- Pay Rate: $30 - $32

- Location: Bay of Plenty
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the operation and management the kitchen.
- Plan, prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Develop, review, and contribute to menus, daily specials, and seasonal dishes.
- Ensure recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation standards are consistently maintained to achieve quality and cost control.
- Supervise, coordinate, and support cooks, kitchen hands, and junior kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, ensuring all dishes meet the restaurant's standards before leaving the kitchen.
- Order, receive, and manage stock, ensuring appropriate inventory levels and minimising food wastage.
- Monitor food costs, portion control, and kitchen productivity to support business profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all Food Control Plan requirements, food safety regulations, and health and safety policies.
- Inspect kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and fully operational, reporting maintenance issues when required.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in kitchen planning meetings and contribute ideas for menu improvements and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a positive and professional working environment while supporting teamwork across all departments.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required by management that are consistent with the role of a Chef.
Requirements:
- 2 year experience or level 4 qualification
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
- Available on weekends.
