EXPERIANCED INDIAN CHEFS

We are looking for Experienced and passionate Indian Chefs to join our growing hospitality team in Auckland.

We are seeking candidates who have good knowledge of Indian cuisine and can work confidently in a busy commercial kitchen. Experience in South Indian and/or North Indian cuisine will be highly valued.

Position: Indian Chef

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes to a consistently high standard
• Prepare curries, gravies, biryanis, starters and other Indian dishes
• South Indian cooking skills such as dosa, idly, vada and chutneys would be an advantage
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation and portion sizes
• Carry out food preparation and manage kitchen mise en place
• Follow food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
• Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage
• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
• Work cooperatively with other chefs and front-of-house staff
• Train cooks and kitchen staff when required
• prepare weekly stock records and develop menu for catering orders
• Must be able to develop seasonal menus.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Chef in an Indian commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of Indian flavours, spices and cooking techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Applicants must have valid working rights in New Zealand
