Golden Cobweb Restaurant & Takeaways, a well established Chinese restaurant and takeaway in Alexandra, Otago, is looking for one full time Chinese Cook to join our friendly and progressive team. We offer a diverse menu featuring traditional Chinese dishes and popular takeaway meals. We are seeking a reliable and motivated cook with a passion for Chinese cuisine who can work confidently and efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.

The ideal candidates should have the following:

•    2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification
•    Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
•    Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
•    Full commitment is required
•    Be reliable and responsible.
•    Working hard and healthy.

Key tasks & responsibilities:
 
1.    Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine dishes are prepared to the specifications.
2.    Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are met.
3.    Ensuring temperatures, seasonings and flavors are to specification.
4.    Ensuring all foods are presented and served in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
5.    Ensuring the storage offoods and others meet statutory Health and Safety requirements.
6.    Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
7.    Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
8.    General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.
