Pap House (G & H RANDHAWA LIMITED) is seeking an
experienced Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at our gastropub 
in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty. This is a permanent/full time role (30+ hours), offering
the opportunity to work alongside our enthusiastic Team in delivering
exceptional dining experiences for our customers.
This will be a full-time Cook position located in Papamoa. A minimum of 30
hours per week will be gauranteed. Business currently operates 7 days a week and you can be rostered on anyday/s time/s during the week. Depending on the level of your skills, rate of pay
will vary between $27 $30 hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Quality Control & Inspection: Inspecting raw ingredients and foodstuffs upon delivery and prior to preparation to ensure maximum freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.
  •  
    Kitchen Equipment Operations: Monitoring and regulating the temperatures of ovens, grills, deep fryers, and other specialized cooking equipment to maintain optimal cooking conditions.
     
  • Food Preparation & Culinary Execution: Prepare, portion, cook, and seasoning a wide variety of menu items utilizing precise culinary techniques and established recipes.
     
  • Plating & Presentation:Prepare, portion, and visually present dishes, apply sauces and garnishes with high precision to meet quality and presentation guidelines.
     
  • Food Safety & Storage: Storing perishable and non-perishable food items in strictly temperature-controlled facilities to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations and minimize waste.
     
  • Dietary Customization: Modifying recipes and preparing specialized meals to accommodate specific dietary requirements, food allergies, and cultural preferences.
     
     
    • Menu & Stock Management: You may help in designing menus, creating daily specials, and predicting food usage to order the right amount of stock and reduce waste. 
    • Staff Supervision & Training: You may supervise, train, and guidie kitchen hands and apprentices to keep the kitchen running smoothly and safely. 
    • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene by cleaning and sanitizing workstations, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift or as required.

Skills/Experience and Certification Required

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience or a relevant NZ register level 4
qualification.


Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays/public holidays.


Solid organisational skills and good speed of work.


Passion for good food.


Great communication skills
