Hours: Minimum 30 -40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

We are looking for a reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, menus and required standards.

  • Prepare ingredients including meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other food items.

  • Cook a range of dishes using commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers and stovetops.

  • Monitor cooking temperatures and cooking times to ensure food is prepared safely and to the required standard.

  • Ensure food is presented consistently and in accordance with the menu.

  • Prepare sauces, dressings, marinades and other accompaniments as required.

  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.

  • Store food appropriately and maintain correct food storage and temperature controls.

  • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and work area.

  • Clean and maintain cooking equipment and utensils.

  • Assist with stock rotation, stock control and minimising food wastage.

  • Work effectively with other kitchen staff during busy service periods.

  • Assist with preparing meals to meet specific dietary requirements where required.

  • Maintain consistent food quality and portion sizes.

  • Perform other reasonable duties related to the Cook position as required.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Applicants must have 2 years of Cooking (Tandoori ) work experience  OR  relevant qualification with at least six months experience in Tandoori cooking

The successful applicant should also have:

  • Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.

  • Ability to prepare and cook a range of dishes to a consistent standard.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • A reliable and positive approach to work.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
