SICHUAN TONGUE ACACIA CATERING LTD is a Chinese Sichuan cuisine restaurant based in Christchurch. We are currently seeking two skilled and experienced chefs specializing in Chinese cuisine to join our team. This is a full-time position where you will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

KEY TASK:

•Planning and updating menus with the manager
•Controlling food and labor expenses, and ordering supplies based on budget.
•Maintaining dish quality from preparation to presentation.
•Collaborating with managers, kitchen, and service staff on food prepare.
•Skilled in Chinese pastry techniques.
•Cook food to established standards.
•Communicate and enforce hygiene rules.
•Assisting in hiring and training if needed.
•Managing freezing and food preservation tasks as required.
•Managing food and raw material stock, ensuring first in first out policy.
•Applying hygiene policies in the kitchen
•Other job duties if required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • NZQF Level 4 qualification or at least three years of relevant experience, preferably
    in a restaurant setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of orders.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
